Summer is finally here so is the Summer Brochure. Join Golden Opportunities for some exciting classes and social events over the next few months.

This quarter Golden Opportunities will explore nearby communities and introduce new educational experiences. It’s the perfect way to get you moving. “Summer is a great time to get out and try something new,” said Pam Williams, Golden Opportunities coordinator. “If you are looking for a short getaway or would like to expand your horizons then our new GO brochure is just for you. It’s packed full of fun.”

Classes include education experiences as well as fitness opportunities. A safety class will be held on July 12. This class will help you keep yourself safe while out and will be led by Lt. Chris Mims. Get creative and paint a masterpiece with Valerie Jones on July 23. August 20 GO will welcome nutritionist Emily Lambeth for a nutrition class. Finish up the quarter with a “Trading Spaces” class on September 5. This class will share best practices to consider when making changes to your home.

To make fitness a part of your routine, join Stretch & Tone every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-1:45pm or Enhance Fitness every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00-1:45 pm. Fitness classes are taught by Bob Rowe.

Social events include a free social night with live entertainment, food and beverages and giveaways called Golden Hour, held the fourth Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. Ladies Bunco is also held every Tuesday at 3:00pm.

If travel is what you seek, join GO a day trip. Visit Ponca City on July 18 to experience the Pioneer Women Museum and the Marland Mansion. Experience the The Jenks Aquarium and River Spirit Casino on August 15 for a day of fun. To end the quarter, cruise over to the Precious Moments Museum in Carthage, MO on September 18 and take in the beauty of the museum. Each trip will be by motor coach.
