news, local-news,

Once again MidCoast Libraries will be running a wide variety of school holiday activities from nine library locations. Most events are free, but some may attract a small charge. Also be aware that events may be age restricted. There are too many to list, so please visit the website, www.midcoastlibraries.com.au, to find out more and to register. Book in early as many events have strict number limits. Also, a reminder for all those children who registered for the Summer Reading Club to complete their reading challenges by January 10 to be in the draw for some fantastic prizes. Check with your branch to find out the details of your closest SRC party. Please be aware that the library will be closed on the Australia Day holiday, Monday, January 27 and on Monday, February 24 for a staff development day. When the Library is closed, there is still online services and collections, suiting travellers and open to visitors to the area. All you need to be is a library member and membership is free. This includes an extensive collection of e-books and e-audio, including Storybox, just in time for the holidays, a digital magazine collection, streamed films and, for the dedicated, online training courses. To find out more about these select the e-Services option on our homepage. Keep your eye out for upcoming events in February which will include author talks, eco cleaning workshops, movie screenings and Seniors Festival. All regular programs will also commence early February.
